Since 1987, our family-owned business has been serving the unique stone and tile needs of our clients in the greater Sacramento area. We specialize in both remodels and new construction and have the experience to make your design dreams a reality. Meet the Team


Matt Trojanowski

Founder & CEO

Matt started in the tile business as an apprentice in 1978 and went on to form Emerald Tile in 1987.  He holds both a Tile Contractor (C54) and a General Contractor (B) license. With his multitude of skills, he is our go-to expert for any building or remodeling questions you may have. He oversees individual projects as well as all aspects of running the business.

When he's not working, he enjoys building anything, boating, flying, and spending time with friends and family, especially the grandkids.


Jeannie Trojanowski

Office Manager

Jeannie joined the Emerald Tile family in 1998 when she married Matt.  She holds the title of Office Manager/ Bookkeeper and can assist you with anything related to the office. She's a genius with numbers and can 10-key on a calculator like no other.

When not in the office, she enjoys gardening, cooking, traveling, boating, and spending time with friends and family.

Michelle Coyle

Project Manager

Michelle began in the family business back in 2007 and has worked her way up through the years to being a Project Manager.  She has an artist's eye for color and design along with an uncanny ability to identify and source materials.  She handles estimating and project oversight from beginning to end.

When she’s not working, you can find her enjoying the scenery with her menagerie of animals, in her garden, painting in her studio or simply relaxing with loved ones.

Amy Ryan

Administrative Assistant

Amy joined the Emerald family in 2017. She is the friendly voice that you will hear when you call and the smiling face that you see when you first arrive to the shop. We enjoy her comic relief during the often-stressful workday. Amy keeps our office organized and running smoothly so that the rest of us can dedicate our time to making sure your project runs just as smoothly.

In her spare time you will find her soaking up the sun with her dog and hanging out with friends.


Mike Chiera

Project Manager

Mike joined Emerald in 2019 as Project Manager.  His multiple decades of prior experience as a General Contractor enables him to manage any project with ease.  He, too, is a wealth of information for anything related to construction. Mike will oversee any and every detail, so that your project turns out as perfect as you imagined.

When not managing your project, he can be found at the end of a fishing pole or spending time with loved ones.
